Support the Ministry

Neither will you get anywhere by looking at maps without going to sea.

Dear Friends,

What a gift these last 5 months have been. This was the first time for me to
teach a 14-week course on Worship.  How incredible it was to arrive at our
last class on Thursday May 13th and see how faithfully the Holy Spirit had
led every lecture and practicum and note.  Many students commented that this
course had taught them more about worship 'living' than worship leading, and
for this I give God all the glory.

One of the highlights this spring was getting to travel with a fellow
student/staff member from Calvary Chapel Bible School in Siegen to
Karlsruhe, Germany to hear a gifted worship leader and teacher, Robert
Stearns.  While we knew the Lord was leading us to attend this meeting, we
had no idea where we would stay or how we would pay for this "adventure"
beyond our train tickets.

Mid-way through the evening service in Karlsruhe, one of the Pastors
initiated a meet and greet time, at which point, a German woman from the
church walked straight up to me and "said, is it you?!"  I suddenly realized
this German frauline standing in front of me was "Daniela," an
acquaintance/friend that I had met at my home fellowship in Nashville, TN
over 5 years ago!!

Via some mutual contacts, Daniela had left the 'familiar' of Germany in 1999
to be a part of the artist's equipping program called The Crucible at
Belmont Church.  And while I had lost track of Daniela since her year abroad
in Nashville, (and I while I don't think I ever knew exactly where in
Germany she was from,) the Lord knew!  What a sweet reunion it was!  And
yes, without even asking, Daniela coordinated housing and meals for us.

What can I say?  In so many ways, this year in Germany has simply been an
exercise in my willingness and God's faithfulness - to get me "off the page"
and into the water.  I am not brave or qualified, nor am I very good at
directions.  But when our loving and faithful Captain says it's time to go
to sea, I have learned, it is best to follow.

The "following" continues this month to Toronto June 10-14 to minister at
the L'Arche community with my friends Joyce and Jillian Heil.  I will also be
singing at the largest secular musical festival in Europe June 26 and 27
outside of Vienna. And while all this and more must sound very exciting (and
it is) I cannot over-emphasize the work and the warfare involved in these
adventures as well.

Your prayers are beyond appreciated, they are imperative, as I keep sailing
this summer.

Thank you for going to sea too.  I think we're getting somewhere!
