Friends,
It is so hard
to believe that it’s March, and spring will be here
before we know
it. Time flies…and mine flew in the form of a 747 bound for
Germany on the
15th of January. And while there have already been ministry
side-trips to
Austria and Slovakia and one is in the works for France, my current
“base of
operations” is a small town in the heart of central Germany called
Neunkirchen.
We are three
weeks into a 15-week semester at Calvary Chapel Bible College
where 40
students have gathered from Germany, Holland, Ireland, Peru, Brazil,
and that
strange land of California. I am both staff and student this semester,
teaching a
course on Worship Leading, handling some administrative and
mentoring
opportunities, as well as studying German and a Bible overview course.
It’s busy,
stretching, and very ”well with my soul.”
Last weekend I
traveled with seven other students to a US military base
south of
Frankfurt to come alongside and assist missionaries planting a church
there. We’ve
also discussed the possibility of me being a part of an
outreach/coffee house concert at this base (and neighboring bases) in the
future. Did
someone say
coffee? Story songs? Getting to share about the greatest Love of
all? Twist my
arm!!
To be a full
time missionary at last is a miracle and a wonder, and it is
definitely
keeping me in the “place of grace” at the foot of the Cross. There
is more work
to do than I ever imagined, but how thankful I am that the work is
all His, and
we merely get to “join in” at His invitation.
My favorite
quotation of the semester is from an older German woman who after
one of my
worship classes shared in broken English, “You teach me how to
life.”
Here in
Germany, God is teaching me “how to life” too. Each day begins and
ends on my
knees, and I am learning there is nothing Jesus can’t supply or
provide. And
for sure there is not anyone, no matter anything, He cannot use.
Just look at
who’s writing to you!
Your prayers
and support mean more than you will ever know.
His love and
blessings,
jennifer
