While argumentative words about who would be the “greatest among them” still lingered in the air, Jesus got up from the table, took a towel, poured water into a basin, and began to wash his disciples’ feet.

This humble event is recorded in the 13th chapter of John’s Gospel, and about a year ago, I wrote a simple hymn about it.
